Ilia
Lieutenant Ilia was a Deltan Starfleet officer assigned to the U.S.S. Enterprise as navigator in the 2270s. In 2411, after a mysterious re-appearance, she was taken to Jupiter Station for medical care and study.
History
During an encounter with the entity known as V'ger, she was replaced by a nearly identical, albeit artificial version of herself. Researchers on Jupiter Station described Ilia as a "hybrid", a fusion of biological and "very advanced" artificial life. One such researcher reported to Admiral Kathryn Janeway that the probe "made a Soong-type android look crude by comparison".
While aboard Enterprise, this probe served as an "avatar" of V'ger, and would later go on to merge with Commander Will Decker. In an after action report filed by Admiral James T. Kirk, both officers were declared "missing" rather than killed in action. (Star Trek: The Motion Picture)
Some time before a Terran Empire attack on Jupiter Station, a comatose Ilia probe teleported onto a Starfleet research station in the Epsilon sector.
Missions involved
- “Red Shift”: The Terran Empire sends a team comprising of Marshal Janeway, Captain Killy, Captain Kuumaarke and the Inquisitor to attack Jupiter Station to steal the Emperor's prize, which revealed to be the recently reappeared Ilia. Marshal Janeway, however, was betrayed by the former three and fled to the U.S.S. Voyager where she explains to Admiral Janeway the reason behind her raid.
- “Blue Shift”: Ilia is rescued from Terran Space Dock by the player. She awakens at the very end of the mission.
- “The Calling”: Having awoken at the very end of the previous mission, Ilia explains that V'Ger discovered the existence of it's mirror counterpart, The Other. The Terran Emperor wishes to use The Other for his own ends and was able to redirect Ilia's connection to V'Ger to the Other, who then began searching for her. Ilia attempts to sooth the The Other's rage at it's creator, but to no avail.
- “Eye of the Storm”: Ilia gives warning that The Emperor has merged with The Other and goes in search of V'ger.
- “The Fujiwhara Effect”: Ilia succeeds in bringing V'ger and advises the player during the defence against the Other. At the conclusion, she travels with the Emperor and The Other.
